Ingredients
12 medium blood oranges, peeled
1 small bunch fresh basil
2 inches fresh turmeric root
Small pinch pink Himalayan salt
Small pinch black pepper
1–2 tsp hempseed oil, to finish

Preparation
1. Awaken the basil
In a mortar and pestle, gently muddle the basil with a small pinch of salt until fragrant and slightly broken down. This releases the aromatic oils and deepens the herb’s flavor.
2. Prepare the turmeric
Roughly chop or break the turmeric root into smaller pieces for easier juicing.
3. Juice the oranges
Peel the blood oranges and juice them using your preferred juicer.
4. Combine the tonic
In a cocktail shaker or glass jar, combine the fresh orange juice, muddled basil, and a small pinch of black pepper.
5. Shake to activate
Shake or stir vigorously to blend the ingredients and lightly aerate the tonic.
6. Strain and serve
Strain into glasses.
