WALNUT DATE CRUST

Makes one crust for 9" tarte 

 

INGREDIENTS

3/4 C pitted dates

1 C toasted walnuts

pinch sea salt

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp cardamom, optional

 

INSTRUCTIONS

- Toast walnuts for 7 min at 350 degrees

- Once walnuts are cooled, about 4 min, add all ingredients into a blender

- Blend 1 min or until thoroughly combined

- Transfer to tarte pan and press crust gently into pan, adding tarte filling when ready

 

NOTES

/ To make energy bars, add 1-2 tbsp superfood powders, nuts, seeds or swap other dried fruits for dates such as dried Turkish apricots. Blend until combined and press into bars, separating with wax paper
